Laurel Gardenware ("we," "us," or "our") runs itsei.com. Rather than a list of legal headings, this Privacy Policy follows the path a typical visit takes, from browsing to ordering to receiving your parcel, and explains at each step which personal details reach us, what we do with them, who else sees them, how we look after them, and what say you have.

While you browse

Details your device sends us

Simply opening our pages passes along some technical information: your IP address, the kind of browser you use, identifiers for your device, which pages you look at, the URL that sent you here, and the time of each visit.

Cookies and similar tools

Our site relies on cookies and comparable technologies to function properly, to recall the preferences you set, and to help us study visitor traffic. You decide how cookies are handled through the settings in your own browser. Keep in mind that switching them off can stop some parts of the site from working as intended.

Analytics

Usage information goes to analytics providers so we can learn how people move around the site and make it perform better.

When you place an order

What you give us at checkout

• Contact details: your name, email, phone number, and the addresses for shipping and billing.
• Order details: the items you buy and your past orders with us.

How your payment is handled

Checkout displays the ways you can pay, and our Payment Policy page sets them out too. Each payment runs securely through our Shopify checkout and payment processor. Full card numbers and payment credentials never sit on our own servers: your card information travels straight to the processor, which treats it according to PCI-DSS standards.

Why we need this information

We put your details to work for these purposes:

• getting your order paid for, packed and shipped, and handling any return or refund;
• keeping you updated on orders and answering your support questions;
• spotting and stopping fraud or transactions you did not authorize;
• making our website, product range and service better;
• fulfilling what the law requires of us;
• sending you promotions, but only if you have agreed to receive them, and you can withdraw that agreement whenever you like.

Who else sees it

A few outside parties help us run the store, and they receive information for that reason alone:

• Shopify, which provides the platform our store is built on;
• payment processors, which complete each transaction securely;
• shipping carriers such as USPS, which bring your order to your door;
• analytics providers, which show us how the site is used so we can improve its performance.

Beyond that, we may release information if a law, regulation or legal process obliges us to, or where needed to defend our rights, property or safety. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal details to any outside company for its marketing.

After delivery

If you write to our support team, those messages are kept with your order record.

How long we hold on to information

Personal information stays with us only while we need it to complete orders, help you, satisfy legal duties and sort out any disputes. When that need ends, it is either securely erased or stripped of anything that identifies you.

Keeping it safe

A combination of administrative, technical and physical safeguards guards the personal information in our care. Data moving between your browser and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS. Even so, no way of sending or storing data electronically is fully secure, so absolute security is not something we can guarantee.

Rights every customer has

• See, fix or remove the personal information we hold on you.
• Stop marketing messages whenever you like, through the unsubscribe link or by getting in touch.
• Find out what information we have about you.

Extra rights for California residents

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you more:

• Right to Know: learn which categories, and which specific pieces, of personal information we have gathered about you.
• Right to Delete: have your personal information erased, except where certain legal exceptions apply.
• Right to Opt Out: personal information is not something we sell; should that ever change, we will give you a clear way to opt out.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: using any of your privacy rights will never result in you being treated unfairly.

Children

itsei.com is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone that young. If you think a child under 13 has shared personal information with us, let us know and we will promptly remove it.

Updates to this policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy now and then. Any revision appears on this page along with a new effective date, so it is worth checking back occasionally.
